Mobile Pantry
Meeting our neighbors where they are
The goal of the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee’s Mobile Pantry program is to make access to Food Bank services more convenient by reaching individuals at risk of hunger in their own communities. View the Mobile Pantry schedule here.
1.
Bridging the gap
Nonprofit organizations, like local food pantries, partner with Second Harvest in a combined effort to serve East Tennesseans facing food insecurity. Unfortunately, in some areas of East Tennessee, there are very few pantries — making it difficult for folks living in those areas to receive adequate resources.
2.
A food pantry that can go anywhere
The Mobile Pantry is a recurring monthly pantry on wheels that neighbors can count on for fresh, nutritious food.
3.
Resources for every county
The Mobile Pantry program brings a balanced inventory of shelf-stable, fresh, and frozen foods to locations in each of our counties that can safely accommodate large numbers of attendees.
4.
How it happens
These events are led by the Food Bank staff and community volunteers from local/sponsoring organizations who typically help unload the truck and prepare the food for distribution.
5.
Sponsorship opportunities
Mobile Pantry sponsorship costs vary based on the needs of the community and as product availability and procurement availability are assessed by Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. Corporate sponsorship of Mobile Pantry distributions are available. If interested, please contact our Senior Manager of Engagement & Marketing, Michael.
