Our team of over 50 employees operates out of our facility in Maryville, Tennessee, and together, we are fighting hunger in our 18-county service area. The Logistics and Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all transportation and logistics operations to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role plays a critical part in supply chain management by managing carrier relationships, optimizing transportation routes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading a team responsible for all fleet operations. The manager will analyze performance data, implement process improvements, and ensure exceptional service standards are met while aligning logistics operations with organizational goals.

SNAP Coordinator

The SNAP Coordinator works to create opportunities for members of our community to gain access to and understand the SNAP program, and its application process, and provides support for anyone seeking SNAP application assistance over the phone and in person. In addition to answering phone calls and assisting walk-ins, the SNAP Coordinator inputs programmatic data and conducts outreach for SNAP and general SHFB food assistance programs.

As part of the Operations team the warehouse associate position is responsible for completing several different tasks each day, including being an order picker, which varies in climates (freezers, coolers, warehouse), also the loading or unloading of all inbound/outbound freight using the proper equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts. This position collaborates with several departments within Second Harvest to help us on our mission to feed our community.

Food Rescue Coordinator/Driver

As part of the operations team, food rescue drivers are responsible for safely and efficiently picking up donated products from various donors such as grocery stores, restaurants, farmers, caterers, etc. Donated products are delivered to partner agencies or brought back to Second Harvest Food Bank for distribution. Food Rescue Drivers are required to positively act as ambassadors for Second Harvest Food Bank to maintain and build donor relationships, agency partnerships, and community support.

Grant Writer

The Grant Writer is responsible for securing funding by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, solicitation and stewarding gifts from foundations and grants. The Maintenance Coordinator supports daily facility, fleet, and grounds maintenance operations by coordinating work, tracking performance, and ensuring timely resolution of maintenance needs. This role focuses on scheduling, documentation, vendor coordination, and hands-on oversight of routine activities while supporting a safe, compliant, and pest-free environment. The Maintenance Coordinator serves as a secondary point of contact for maintenance issues and escalates complex or high-risk matters to the Maintenance Manager.
