Give
Why Give?
Second Harvest Food Bank is leading the community in the fight to end hunger.
Many companies offer employees a matching gift benefit that doubles, or even triples, your contribution to
Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, making your gift go even further.
Check to see if your employer offers this benefit.
Giving Societies
Everyone has a role in creating food security for our community. Schedule your recurring gift today and help sustain Second Harvest Food Bank’s programs all year round. We now offer membership to one of several giving societies whose goals are to honor the individuals, organizations and corporations who make our work possible.
- No extra work is needed from you; when you give you are sorted into a society based on the level and type of gift you make.
- If you are continuing to give, then this will be based on your past giving history.
Food Drives
- Virtual Food Drives offer a virtual grocery shopping experience to help us stock our shelves.
- Traditional Food Drives are an opportunity to witness your community’s impact firsthand.
Volunteer
Volunteers are vital to the operations of Second Harvest Food Bank and our ability to serve all 18 counties. This past year, our volunteers donated 29,000+ hours of their time, completing mission-critical tasks in our community. Volunteer responsibilities include sorting donated items, packing food boxes, distributing food at Mobile Pantries, and helping at special events. Through the generous gift of your time, you can leave an impact here in East Tennessee.
- Twenty volunteer slots are available per shift. Two shifts (9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. 4 p.m.) are available Monday-Saturday each week.
- Non-violent, non-theft court-appointed volunteers may be accepted by Second Harvest.
Grants
Our Food Bank can provide as many meals to as many neighbors as we do because of our community’s generous support. We are so grateful to our local government, foundations, corporations, and individuals that choose us as recipients of their grant funding. With the support of this funding, we can make significant strides in advancing food security in our region by providing adequate and regular food access to our neighbors in need.
