Feed East Tennessee

Second Harvest Food Bank is critically low on several food items that are frequently used to feed children and seniors through the Food for Kids and Elder Food programs.

This is a plea for help. Second Harvest is asking all area faith-based groups to collect food items over the next several weeks and deliver them to the food bank during the week of July 23rd through July 28th, any time between from 9-4 pm.

136 Harvest
Lane, Maryville TN 37801.

Supplies are low on: Peanut Butter, applesauce cups, fruit cups, individual sized cereal boxes, canned tuna fish and any canned fruit or vegetable.  Money may also be collected. For every $1 raised, Second Harvest will provide 3 complete meals to the hungry in East Tennessee.

Churches and other groups are encouraged to link this regional food and fund drive with already scheduled programs like vacation bible schools, youth activities, bible studies etc. Remember for every $1 raised, 3 meals  will be provided to the hungry in our community.

The first week in August, Second Harvest will announce the total of this East Tennessee faith-based food drive. We will also announce which group collected the most food items on a per person basis. IE: Items and money collected divided by congregation size. The winning group will be featured in a Second Harvest regional newsletter.

Please let Second Harvest know of your commitment in support of this food drive by contacting John Bell at john@secondharvestetn.org  or 865-243-8216.

Thank you! Together we are fighting hunger and feeding hope in our community.
